Agile’s Seven Deadly Sins #1

 Sin # 1

Imposed Values

I am not sure i agree with the value system that is defined as part of the Agile Manifesto. It says we value this over that. I have seen teams come together on shared goals and vision more than they do from values. As much as values motivate us to do certain things, shared goals help a team reach its milestones.

My team that is spread between US and India definitely  have very different values that drive them, but when we gave them shared goals we were able to exceed our commitments. So is the Value system of Agile a fallacy? Or look at why UK and USA – two countries with varying values came together for the Normandy invasion because of the goals they shared.
